The largest training and medical center in Iran, Tehran hosts the Exoped robotic exoskeleton. The “Brain and Spinal Injury Research Center” in Imam Khomeini Hospital is using Exoped in a joint research program with Sharif University of Technology.
Clinical exoskeletons are mainly used to help rehabilitate patients with lower extremity difficulties. Spinal cord injury, Multiple Sclerosis and some patients with brain damage are the main targets for using this new technology. The exoskeleton technology allows users to walk again. It can accelerate the rehabilitation process, preventing long-term problems such as bed hustle, kidney and digestive problems, muscle weakness, blood pressure problems, etc., as well as improving patient’s morale and providing motor movement, can be achieved using Exoped robotic exoskeleton.
The Brain and Spinal Injury Research Center at Imam Khomeini Hospital is the fifth research/clinical center in Iran uses Exoped exoskeleton robot developed by Iranian company Pedasys. Patients participating in this research project can benefit from the latest rehab technology.
